About

Who runs Patrician.ch.

Patrician.ch is an independent research and software publisher. It has 2 products: a written report for readers, and software for advisory firms.

In short

  • An independent publisher. It is not a law firm, a tax adviser, a bank or a regulated financial intermediary.
  • No advertising, no paid placement and no commission from a bank, an agent, a developer or a residence program.
  • Every paid order is sold and invoiced by Polar, the merchant of record. Patrician.ch never sees a card.
  • Accounts, client profiles, Dossiers and inquiries are stored in a database in Switzerland.
  • Every tax figure names its official source and the date it was last checked.

What it sells, and what it does not.

The Private Dossier is a written report for 1 household on the 3 places that rank first for it. Patrician.ch for Firms is software: widgets for a firm's own site, and client reports under the firm's name. These 2 products are the only income. Pricing.

No place on the board pays to be listed or ranked, and no link on the site earns a commission. A firm that subscribes has no say in a ranking or a figure.

Who you pay.

Polar is the merchant of record. It sells to you in its own name, takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax. Its name is on your invoice. Patrician.ch never sees a card.

A Dossier is refunded in full when you ask by email within 7 days of delivery. You can cancel a firm plan at any time in the billing portal. Its first payment is refunded in full when you ask within 7 days of that payment and fewer than 3 Dossiers were generated in that billing cycle. Polar makes the refund to the card or account the payment came from. Refund policy.

Where your data is.

Accounts, client profiles, Dossiers and inquiries are stored in a database in Switzerland. Patrician.ch does not sell a reader's details and does not use or share them for marketing. An inquiry sent from a firm's widget goes to that firm only, and the firm answers under its own privacy policy. A Dossier opens only from its own link, which is not listed anywhere.

The providers that run the site work under their data processing terms and receive what their task needs: hosting, the database, email delivery, payment, the language model that drafts the prose of a Dossier, and the service that renders its PDF. Some of them may process data in other countries. The site measures visits with Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, behind a consent notice in Europe. The widgets on a firm's site set no cookies. Privacy notice.

How a figure gets on the page.

Each tax figure is modeled from the published rule and carries its official source and the date it was last checked. The sources are checked every day, and each change is entered in a public record with its date. A figure that no longer matches its source is corrected on the site, in the engine and in every new Dossier, and the correction is entered in the record with its date.

In a Dossier, the figures and the tables come from a fixed calculation, so the same inputs always give the same figures. A language model drafts the prose around them. A second automated pass checks each sentence against the figures and removes a sentence that does not match. No lawyer or tax adviser reviews a Dossier.

For firms: your visitors and your clients.

An inquiry comes from a visitor to your own site, and it is yours. Patrician.ch delivers it to the inbox in your account as your processor and uses it for nothing else: no marketing and no contact from us. No plan is priced by the number of inquiries. The widget code runs only on the domains you list.

A client profile holds the settings and a label you choose. It needs no name and no contact details. You can delete an inquiry or a profile yourself at any time. Patrician.ch for Firms.

What Patrician.ch is not.

Nothing on the site is tax, legal or immigration advice, and Patrician.ch does not act for a reader or for a firm's client. The research is written to be read before a first meeting with a lawyer or tax adviser.

Contact.

Write to hello@patrician.ch. Answered within 24 hours, Monday to Friday. A figure you believe is wrong is checked against its published source and corrected in the data.
