A resident pays about 17% on a capital gain in Montenegro. Montenegro carries no annual wealth tax. Spouse and children exempt. Montenegro taxes inherited real estate through its property transfer tax, at 3% up to 150,000 EUR, 5% from there to 500,000 EUR and 6% above, but first degree heirs (spouse, children, parents) are exempt.
